We surveyed 2000 respondents across geographies, the USA, China and India to delve into the global perspectives on Earth Day and Earth restoration, exploring insights, motivations, and obstacles as we strive towards a greener, more sustainable future.

The higher familiarity with Earth Day in the US compared to other countries can be attributed to a combination of factors, including its early adoption, extensive education and awareness campaigns, cultural emphasis on environmentalism, government support and policies, and active community engagement.

Countries such as the US with higher familiarity with Earth Day also tend to prioritize environmental education in their school curriculum or have a stronger cultural emphasis on sustainability. This could reveal the influence of educational systems and cultural values on shaping environmental awareness and attitudes, which explains the high awareness levels of the Earth Day 2024 theme.

While certain activities like reforestation, plastic recycling and conserving water are universally recognized as important for Earth restoration, the perceived importance of other activities may vary based on cultural, environmental, or societal factors specific to each country. Understanding these differences can inform targeted strategies for promoting Earth restoration efforts tailored to the unique contexts of different regions.
